Printmaking

No fashion point picture today. I'm wearing a white & blue striped shirt with a white fluffy skirt. It's a little nautical. It's too graphic to be strictly romantic and too romantic to be strictly mod. So it's Modmantic. Two very French elements of fashion, yet together they counteract each other. If I'd ridden my bike today, I'd say it was a very Dutch look. I love how European women ride bikes in skirts. So adorable.

I went to the Bloomington Print Collective yesterday.  It's a pretty nice little space. A bit crowded, but it's still awesome and I can't wait to get back into printing. I may even teach a class. Danielle, the woman I met, was very excited that I'll be doing intaglio. She just moved in a Takach press with a sizable bed.  I usually don't run big stuff, but it's nice to know I can. I really hope I didn't throw away my copper plates. That'd be really really stupid considering how expensive copper is as scrap. Mind numbingly stupid. I'm pretty sure I didn't. I think I just tossed some plexi.

Oscar and I just moved. Two weeks ago. I threw away a lot of art supplies. But still not enough. Mostly scraps of paper. I need to clear out some art, actually. I want to get rid of so much stuff, but can't seem to part with it either. Groan groan groan. Yard sale!!!

I'm back to listening to Harry Potter on tape at work. It's a questionable choice. On the one hand, the talking helps to focus. On the other, it's kind of embarrassing to be listening to Harry Potter. Thankfully, nobody sits nearby.

I'm pretty bored, actually. Which means there's not a lot to write about. Printmaking should change that. It will also involve pictures.

I'm trying to use less "I, Me, Mine." I'd like to be writing about things in such a way as to not fall back on "I did/thought/said." It's quite difficult. Maybe that will be tomorrow's goal. Write about the day without using any first person pronouns. Can it be done? Can it be done without passive voice as well? Doubtful. Oh and it won't just be sentences in which the pronoun is just skipped. They'll be complete. There won't be any of this: Went to the store. Clearly, if not for the challenge it would say, "I went to the store." This is a good challenge. Like the time in high school when Mrs. Allen limited "is's" to five per essay. She also disallowed "interesting" and "good." She needs to be thanked for that.

The day is almost done, so tah for now.
